Company founder, William T. Porter, is a retired Detective Investigator formerly with the New York City Police Department. Mr. Porter retired from the NYPD Computer Crime Squad where he was a computer crime investigator as well as a digital forensic examiner. He was a member of the New York City Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force where he was selected to be credentialed by the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations unit in order to investigate cases at the federal level. Primarily tasked with the investigation of child exploitation cases, Mr. Porter was also responsible for conducting digital forensic examinations of mobile devices and computers as well as a myriad of other electronic evidence.

 

Before his assignment to the Computer Crime Squad, Mr. Porter spent 11 years as a forensic investigator processing crime scenes. He worked in the NYPD Crime Scene Unit for six years and before that he was in the Manhattan South Evidence Collection Team. All told, Mr. Porter investigated almost 1,000 crime scenes in his career before retirement. He is an International Association for Identification Certified Crime Scene Investigator and has been deemed an expert in Crime Scene Investigation in NYS Supreme Court, Bronx County.

 

Mr. Porter was also a lecturer with the NYPD Criminal Investigation Course as well as the Homicide Investigators Course.

 

Before starting his career with the NYPD, and then continuing concurrently, Mr. Porter served in the United States Army Reserve as a Military Police Officer. Serving both as a Team Leader in Bosnia-Herzegovina and a Squad Leader in Iraq. Mr. Porter left the Army as a decorated Military Police Sergeant after 11 years of honorable service.
